Information Technology Specialist I - Software Developer & Administrator

Job Description and Duties

This position works in support of the California State Lottery’s (Lottery) BPAS Unit. The duties include planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and support activities for the Lottery’s enterprise information technology (IT) operations and software systems to meet critical business objectives. The focus is in the Client Services, Software Engineering, IT Project Management, and System Engineering domains.

• Planning and developing software solutions using ServiceNow architecture, enterprise software solutions, and automation.
• Implementing innovative integrations to support the Lottery's mission of providing supplemental funding to California's public schools.
• Maintaining and supporting existing software systems to ensure they meet critical business objectives.
• Collaborating with talented professionals across the organization to drive cutting-edge technology that supports the Lottery's mission.

Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must have:

• A current Information Technology Specialist I exam.
• Experience with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tools/platforms.
• Knowledge of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) practices and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Framework.
• Experience with back-end scripting languages.
• Experience with front-end scripting languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with System Administration of IT platforms.
• Experience working with customers and Business Analysis techniques (Requirements and user story elicitation and documentation).
• Experience with software testing techniques and tools.
• The ability to develop quality documentation that clearly articulates solutions.
• The ability to research and find answers to complex technical issues.
