The California Lottery is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise headquartered in Sacramento. Lottery products are sold at over 23,000 retail locations statewide, including independent neighborhood shops, convenience stores, liquor stores, and supermarkets. Offerings include an average of 52 Scratchers® games and several draw games such as Powerball®, Mega Millions®, SuperLotto Plus®, Fantasy 5, and Hot Spot®.
About the Role
The California State Lottery is seeking a collaborative and solution-focused Project Manager to drive the successful delivery of projects that support our business and strategic goals. This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be approved for hybrid (remote or office-based) telework. Employees must report to headquarters when required, and travel costs are the responsibility of the employee. Telework eligibility requires residency in California.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex projects within the Lottery’s project portfolio.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and decisions; keep stakeholders informed.
- Support the development and enhancement of project management standards, processes, and tools.
- Provide project management guidance to divisional project leads, sponsors, and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Current Information Technology I exam (or eligibility to take the exam).
- All experience and education related to the Minimum Qualifications must be clearly demonstrated on the State Application (STD 678).
- Submission of a Statement of Qualifications is required.
- No felony or gambling-related offense convictions (per the California State Lottery Act).
- Must clear a Background Investigation prior to hire.
- Applicants with foreign transcripts must provide a transcript evaluation indicating equivalent units.
Pay
- Information Technology Specialist I: $6,513.00 - $10,537.00 per month (Ranges A-C).
- New hires start at the minimum salary of the classification or alternate range.
- Effective July 1, 2025, certain employees are subject to a 2% - 4.62% salary reduction in exchange for Personal Leave hours.
