Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and software development teams to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements for software development initiatives.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process reviews to define business needs, identify gaps, and translate requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain high-quality project documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, data mapping, workflow diagrams, and requirements traceability matrices.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA, and project managers to ensure requirements are clearly understood, prioritized, and successfully delivered throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Evaluate solution options by balancing business objectives, technical feasibility, project timelines, and organizational priorities while communicating recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Maintain end-to-end traceability of business requirements through design, development, testing, and deployment to ensure delivered solutions meet business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, project managers, and technical teams while providing regular updates on requirements, project progress, risks, dependencies, and potential impacts.
  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional meetings to drive alignment, resolve questions, and ensure timely decision-making throughout project delivery.
  • Support multiple concurrent software development projects by effectively managing priorities, timelines, documentation, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify project risks, requirement gaps, and scope changes early, escalating issues when appropriate and partnering with leadership to develop effective solutions.
  • Mentor junior Business Analysts by sharing best practices, reviewing documentation, and promoting consistent business analysis standards across the team.
  • Continuously improve business analysis processes, documentation standards, and team collaboration while contributing to organizational best practices.

Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting software development or IT project delivery.
  • Proven experience eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing business, functional, and system requirements throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience creating high-quality business analysis artifacts, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, workflow diagrams, functional specifications, data mapping, and requirements traceability documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid software delivery methodologies and how business analysis activities differ across each.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and active listening skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex business challenges and recommend practical technology solutions.
  • Experience supporting software development teams by clarifying requirements, participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and solution validation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation.
  • Experience maintaining end-to-end requirements traceability from business objectives through development, testing, and implementation.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across business, development, QA, architecture, and project management teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint or other collaboration and documentation tools is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Skills

  • Business Analysis certifications such as IIBA CBAP®, CCBA®, or PMI-PBA® are preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 annually. Final salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule.
