About the role
The Imaging Clinical Supervisor oversees certain areas of the Urgent Care or Surgery Imaging offices, collaborating with the Associate Division Director-Urgent Care or Program Manager-Surgery. This role provides friendly, efficient, fiscally-responsible, and customer-responsive practice operations. They supervise or lead clinical and clerical staff, ensuring an effective team environment, and serve as a communication liaison with other IHA departments.
Responsibilities
- Supervises day to day operations of assigned areas to ensure efficient, fiscally responsible and customer-responsive procedures and operations in multiple locations.
- Addresses and communicates thoroughly and promptly with leadership regarding all issues impacting day to day operations.
- Contributes to the development and ongoing implementation of the CORE program work plan.
- Ensures efficient and effective scheduling, timekeeping and payroll for assigned staff.
- Serves as liaison for Program Manager and Radiologist group; ensures policies and procedures are followed in compliance with federal regulations.
- Liaison for Physician liaison for any quality control concerns.
- Affords assistance with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of clinical staff, in accordance with IHA human resources and service guidelines.
- Assists in the development and clarification of clinical protocols for staff.
- Holds regular staff meetings; keeps staff informed on any change in guidelines or protocols and information pertinent to job requirements.
- Manages internal and external clinical office audits.
- Supports clerical and clinical staff and providers as needed.
- Assists with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Credentials/Licenses: Valid registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology; valid CPR certification.
- Minimum Experience: 1-2 years’ experience. Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Skills
- Ability to supervise others and manage functional area.
- Knowledge of patient care/radiology/sonography procedures/principles and organizational policies related to position responsibilities.
- Knowledge in office billing/coding and liaison with billing department and staff on any issues or training.
- Proficient/knowledgeable in medical terminology.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations needed during the course of performing essential job duties.
- Proficient in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including but not limited to, electronic medical records, email, e-learning, intranet, Microsoft Word and Excel, and computer navigation.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette.
- Ability to speak before groups of people, either in-person or virtually.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; displays courteous and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations including IHA staff, providers, patients, family members, hospital and radiology staff, non-IHA providers and staff.
- Ability to cross-train in other areas of practice in order to achieve smooth flow of all operations.
- Good organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities and time constraints.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and problem-solving skills and make medical decisions as required by position.
- Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner.
- Knowledge of the compliance aspects of clinical care and patient privacy and best practices in medical office operations.
