IET and Wage Career Coach/Instructor
About the role
The instructor will coordinate and implement Career Education/WAGE And IET Services at NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC), a leading community college in Northwest Arkansas. This is a ten-month salaried position reporting to the Dean of Adult Education.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deliver, and assess Career Education, WAGE™, and IET instruction for adult education students
- Create and deliver instruction in foundational academic skills and integrated digital, financial, and health literacy
- Plan, organize, and coordinate career education instruction
- Provide guidance and direction to students, including career coaching and counseling
- Assist students in identifying employment goals, career pathways, and transition opportunities
- Coordinate and support IET program development aligned with high-demand occupations
- Administer, score, and interpret student assessments; use assessment data to provide individualized instruction
- Maintain accurate student records in program data management and learning management systems
- Promote program awareness, recruitment, retention, and student engagement
- Prepare required internal and external reports
- Participate in Adult Education, NWACC, and Workforce Services meetings
- Complete required professional development and program training
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current Arkansas Teaching License
- Arkansas Adult Education Teaching Endorsement
Qualifications
- Knowledge of adult education instruction, career pathways, workforce readiness, and integrated education and training practices
- Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, assessment practices, and instructional strategies that support diverse adult learners
- Knowledge of student advising, career coaching, academic planning, and transition support for students entering workforce training or postsecondary programs
- Written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports, correspondence, instructional materials, presentations, and program documentation
- Computer and instructional technology skills, including using learning management systems, data management systems, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases
- Ability to analyze student assessment data, monitor progress, solve problems, and use sound judgment to support instructional and program decisions
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work independently while managing multiple instructional, advising, reporting, and partnership responsibilities
- Effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, school districts, referral agencies, workforce partners, business and industry representatives, and the public
- Able to maintain accurate records, protect confidential information, and ensure work is completed with attention to detail and accuracy
