Career Coach (Employability)

Job Summary

The Career Coach (Employability) assists participants with diagnosed disabilities enrolled in Vocational Services, Texas Workforce Commission Rehabilitative Services, and GWH’s vocational and work skills programs. The role includes career planning and decision-making, job coaching, and employment support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Provide employment case management and career planning services.
• Maintain and review participant assessments and employment/training needs.
• Monitor participant progress and provide coaching and guidance.
• Conduct on-site coaching and job coaching during work experience activities.
• Maintain relationships with partnering agencies and make referrals.
• Prepare job seekers for employment and place participants in industry-related jobs.
• Support participants with maintaining employment and job sustainability.
• Maintain accurate data entry and ensure confidentiality.
• Travel to multiple locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of two (2) years of workforce development, career services, and/or human services experience.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, and research understanding.
• Ability to communicate and interact with various personality types.
• Problem analysis, alternative identification, and approach development skills.
• Goal setting, implementation, and evaluation abilities.
• Reliable transportation.
• Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
• Able to spend most working hours at a computer.
