- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during service.
How You Will Do It
Apprentices will train and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. They will also participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy to build skill sets for continued opportunities, recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement.
- Develop troubleshooting and customer needs resolution skills through coaching and mentorship.
- Keep stakeholders informed of job progress and issues.
- Meet attendance requirements for required Union training for the first year.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Generate quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
What We Look For
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
- At least 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally to customers and other outside contacts.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Up to 2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this role is $19.80 hourly, determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role, but exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
