HVAC Truck Based Mechanic Apprentice (union)
What You Will Do

- Train and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
- Participate in certified training through the Service Technical Academy to build skill sets for continued opportunities.
- Develop troubleshooting and customer needs resolution skills through coaching and mentorship.
- Keep JCI, contractors, and customers informed about job progress and issues as needed.
- Maintain attendance for required Union training during the first year.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to enhance facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
- Generate quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
What We Look For
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
- At least 1+ years of industry experience or equivalent experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- General knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls professionally to customers and other external contacts.
- Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and prioritize safety in all forms.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Prior experience in trade school or college with a technical emphasis is preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this role is $19.44 hourly, determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role, but exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that warrant consideration beyond the stated range.
