About the role

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join their team. They are dedicated to providing high-quality services and solutions to their clients, particularly in the areas of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during service visits.
  • Perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites under the guidance of certified training through the Service Technical Academy (STA).
  • Develop and troubleshoot skills to address both technical and customer needs.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about job progress and issues as necessary.
  • Participate in required Union training for the first year of employment.
  • Offer recommendations and solutions to ensure facility efficiency, including opportunities for upselling.
  • Prepare quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • At least 1+ years of industry experience or equivalent experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
  • Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and other external contacts.
  • Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
  • Ability to prioritize safety in all aspects of work.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in trade school or college in a technical emphasis is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
