HVAC O&M Mechanical Apprentice (union)

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, seeks an Apprentice to join its team. The Apprentice will perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service, as well as install and commission complex system field devices, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.

Responsibilities

• Performs all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service
• Installs more complex required system field devices and commissioning using standard configuration and commissioning tools
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems
• Responds to basic warranty calls
• Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment (EPA Refrigeration certification a plus)
• The ability to perform general building maintenance
• The ability to work in an industrial environment
• Self-starter with ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Current driver's license
• Willingness to supplement on-the-job training with training provided by Local 2
• This is a Bargaining Unit Position

Pay

Pay Range: $18.31 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
