HVAC Mechanical Pre -Apprentice Technician (union)

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
• Work on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites under the guidance of certified training through the Service Technical Academy (STA).
• Develop and troubleshoot skills to address both technical and customer needs.
• Keep stakeholders informed of job progress and issues.
• Participate in required Union training for the first year.
• Offer recommendations and solutions to enhance facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
• Prepare quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• General knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally.
• Leadership skills to support mechanics on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all forms.
• Valid driver's license.
• Prior to employment, must have 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis, or 1+ years of industry experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.

Qualifications

• This is a Bargaining Unit Position.
• The posted salary range is $16.85-$21.51 hourly rate, determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) or rate sheet.
• Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
