Human Services Supervisor-Veterans Services
About the role
Join our Snohomish County Human Services Team! Position is assigned to the Division of Behavioral Health and Veterans Services. This position will oversee the wide variety of programming provided for indigent and low-income veterans including emergency and ancillary services, housing support and employment assistance. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Veterans Unit. This position will work in partnership with local, state and federal partners in the coordinated delivery of services to our most vulnerable veterans.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, supervision, and technical guidance to staff within assigned Human Services program areas.
- Responsible for implementing programs and coordinating program operations, including work assignments, performance evaluations, and issue resolution to ensure the delivery of quality services that meet program goals and standards.
- May perform the duties of all direct report employees.
- Works in a cross-disciplinary and interdepartmental manner to best meet the needs of the department's clientele.
- Assures compliance with statutes, regulations, and other guidance; participate in development and implementation of quality assurance measures; and maintains program standards to meet funding and, as applicable, accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, social sciences, or other field directly related to human services; PLUS, four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the administration of human services programs, including two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Must pass job-related tests.
Qualifications
- A valid Washington State Driver's License, unrestricted except as to vision, is required prior to appointment.
- Depending on the program assignment, applicants may be required to pass additional screening relevant to the position.
Skills
- Knowledge of governmental and private sector human services programs and systems.
- Principles, practices, and techniques in area of assignment.
- Principles, practices and procedures involved in the planning, development, administration: budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation of such programs.
- The literature, trends and developments in the area of specialty.
- Supervisory and personnel management procedures and practices.
- Use of applicable technology.

Pay
Regular full-time employees: If you work 35 or more hours per week, you will pay these monthly premiums for medical insurance. The County pays the monthly premiums for vision, dental, and basic life insurance.
Schedule
Regular full-time employees: If you work 35 or more hours per week, you will pay these monthly premiums for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. The County's contribution toward the premium for an employee in a regular part-time appointment will be pro-rated in an amount equal to the F.T.E. percentage the employee is assigned.
