Duties
- Performs the duties of the Team Coach in his/her absence and shares in those responsibilities on a daily basis.
- Ensures that the team's quality and timeliness of service meets performance indicator goals.
- Responsible for the cost-effective use of resources to accomplish the team's assigned outcomes.
- Gathers, interprets, and recommends appropriate action based on a wide range of data addressing service concerns.
- Analyzes and interprets laws, rules and regulations and their effect on the establishment of new policies, procedures, and/or methods of operation.
- Monitor leave balances, approve/deny leave, and certify timecards.
- Run production and workload reports.
- Communicate with senior management.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:07/15/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position, you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Specialized Experience
Specialized Experience is defined as performance of technical assignments affecting the entire field of VA's compensation and pension (C&P) benefits programs. These assignments would have required interpretation of the full range of C&P laws and regulations, to include precedent opinions of the Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims and authoritative opinions of the General Counsel. Experience may have been gained as a VSR Authorizer, RVSR, AQRS or DRO. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Quality assurance or auditor functions related to claims processing and benefit determination. Adjudication and authorization of compensation, pension, and claims. Determination to reconsider claims appeal cases and preparation/presentation of such cases.
