Supervisory Veterans Service Representative (Coach).
About the role
This position oversees and directs a team of subordinates, providing final technical authority on claims processing. The incumbent advises division managers on team operations and liaises with external agencies to support veteran programs.
Responsibilities
- Directs, plans, and assigns work priorities for subordinates.
- Demonstrates expertise in all phases of claims processing and has final technical authority.
- Advises division managers on team performance and workload management.
- Liaises with Veterans Service Organizations and other government agencies to facilitate cooperative efforts.
- Supervises personnel, issuing supervisory instructions, evaluating performance, resolving complaints, conducting interviews, and identifying training needs.
- Maintains effective labor/management relationships and ensures personnel management duties are carried out according to applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversees responses to inquiries and claims adjudication processes.
Requirements
The position requires a U.S. Citizenship and a successful completion of a background/security investigation. The incumbent must also undergo a one-year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
- Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 grade level, involving technical assignments affecting VA's Compensation and Pension Benefits Programs.
- Education: No education substitution is available for the GS-13 grade level.
