Human Services Supervisor 2
About the role
The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a Human Services Supervisor (Human Services Supervisor 2) to lead and supervise employees and programs in a team environment. The position involves providing resources and services to help people move out of poverty and toward whole well-being, managing local office staff, and collaborating with community partners.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff, assign, monitor and review work.
- Aid in professional development, coaching, monitoring performance and providing direction, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and resolution of complaints.
- Provide direction to local office staff to achieve and maintain performance measures.
- Maintain strong relationships with community partners and families.
- Collaborate with state agencies and community partners to coordinate services.
- Manage Self Sufficiency programs, develop program rules and policies, and participate in district planning and special projects.
- Monitor and analyze local office effectiveness in policy implementation and application.
- Analyze, evaluate, and monitor operational effectiveness through observation and reports gathered by reviews, routine monitoring and quality control data.
- Anticipate agency needs and direction.
- Facilitate changes in services, programs, community partnerships and use of department resources.
- Model Equity North Star goals and ODHS Core Values.
Requirements
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience OR one year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

- Experience ensuring daily operations run smoothly and consistently.
- Experience setting priorities, defining goals, and guiding team through changes.
- Uses data to make informed decisions, and balances immediate need with long term goals.
- Experience recognizing individual strengths, establishing performance expectations, providing constructive feedback, while fostering a culture of growth, trust, collaboration, professionalism, transparency and accountability.
- Experience sharing information clearly and effectively with diverse audiences, listens to concerns, and ensure staff understand expectations and changes.
- Experience building strong relationships across teams and community partners.
- Experience staying calm and flexible during unexpected situations.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Pay
$5,907 - $9,143 per month.
Schedule
Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional, non-traditional hours may be required. Most travel will be local but may include occasional travel across the state. May involve occasional overnight stay away from local area for trainings or conferences.
