About The Role
The Human Resources Operations Specialist at Contec plays a pivotal role in supporting the HR functions by providing comprehensive transactional and operational support. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of HR Operations, this remote position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple HR processes efficiently. The role involves serving as a primary contact for HR-related inquiries, managing employee lifecycle events such as onboarding, offboarding, internal mobility, and relocation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and policies. The specialist will work closely with internal teams including Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and IT, as well as external agencies and vendors.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of full-time experience in Human Resources or related roles.
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably Workday.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
- Knowledge of HR-related laws, regulations, and policies.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience with SharePoint and other business tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries via Workday cases, emails, and phone calls, providing exceptional customer service.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, internal mobility, relocation, offboarding, and related processes.
- Initiate, monitor, and process transactions within the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and timely completion of actions.
- Aid employees, managers, and HR team members with guidance on policies, programs, and HR tools.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal policies, ensuring data privacy and security.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and insights on HR processes and challenges.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and IT, as well as external agencies.
- Create and maintain reports within Workday, supporting data analysis and decision-making.
- Assist with HR system testing, documentation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Respond to unemployment claims and prepare necessary documentation.
- Compile and submit reports to government agencies and internal audit teams as required.
- Coordinate with IT to resolve technical issues by submitting service tickets.
- Code and process invoices related to HR activities.
