Human Resources Recruiter & Talent Coordinator

About the role

Flexible part-time position requiring 20 to 25 hours per week, typically spread over 3-4 days. Hours are somewhat flexible and may vary to cover coworker holidays and busy periods. Ongoing training and coaching will be provided, along with the opportunity to work from home plus weekly team collaboration days.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local businesses in Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton to find ideal candidates matching their business needs.
  • Recruit, source, and generate interest in open positions through creative outreach.
  • Conduct candidate interviews and assist in selecting top talent for clients.
  • Screen, hire, and schedule temporary workers for weekly assignments and large events.
  • Write and publish eye-catching job postings on social media and job boards.
  • Assist candidates with career strategies, resumes, and applications.
  • Handle client and candidate communications via email and phone.
  • Perform administrative duties including database updates, client newsletters, and job alerts.
  • Contribute ideas and recommend process improvements to enhance business effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and strong people skills (most important qualification).
  • Diverse background working in various roles and industries (life experience is beneficial).
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive approach and good ideas.
  • 3+ years of administrative experience with a sharp eye for detail.
  • People and/or event coordination skills and experience.
  • Ability to focus on priorities and work efficiently, especially during busy periods.
  • Comfortable making phone calls to candidates, employers, and references.
  • Past experience in human resources, hotels, restaurants, marketing, or construction is an asset.
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Computer savvy, experienced with Google Docs, and comfortable learning new software.
  • Own computer, cell phone, and a comfortable home workspace.
  • Strong written communication skills with grammatically correct correspondence.
  • Enjoys working independently, is a good prioritizer, and a self-starter.
