As a leading electrical contractor, we’ll give you an insider’s look into the industry through real-world experience on active projects. You’ll get to see how different teams collaborate to bring complex projects to life, build practical and professional skills, and learn directly from industry pros in the field and office. Role Overview As an HR intern, you won’t be stuck doing coffee runs or busy work. You’ll be a true extension of our HR team, getting hands on exposure across the entire employee experience, from recruiting talent, to keeping our team members engaged and supported. Because our program is tailored to your goals, you'll have the opportunity to explore the areas that interest you most. You might help develop new company initiatives like onboarding and engagement programs, research strategic talent partnerships, or collaborate with HR leaders on training and recruiting. No matter where your interests lead, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that make a lasting impact on our culture and company. What You'll Do Key Responsibilities: Boost Team Engagement Bring new ideas to help make the workplace more engaging and connected. Assist with planning team-building activities, employee events, and recognition programs across departments. Help create and share employee surveys, gather feedback, and support initiatives that make a positive impact on the employee experience. Streamline HR Operations Help keep our day-to-day HR processes running smoothly by looking at our current systems, spotting any gaps, and finding creative ways to simplify our team workflows and digital tools. Explore What Interests You Most Tailor your project workload around your specific career goals. You’ll get opportunities to sit in on phone screenings with recruiting, sit down with our HR Director on compensation and benefits, or with Learning & Development on finding engaging training opportunities for current employees. Additional duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Curious and ready to jump in, just bring enthusiasm, ask great questions, and be excited to take ownership on real projects. People oriented, with a strong interest in connecting with everyone across IME, from office staff to field crews, and a genuine desire to make our workday better. Trustworthy and ethical, with the discretion needed to handle sensitive employee information behind the scenes. Demonstrated Accomplishments Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear, friendly guides and emails and talk comfortably with team members at all levels. A problem-solving mindset focused on looking at things that are currently done, spotting ways to make them better, and bringing practical ideas to life. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quick to pick up new tools and software. Education & Experience Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related program. Working Conditions What You'll Get The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day. Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hour *Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity. * Established in 1946, IME is part of Quanta Services, the largest specialty contractor in North America. As an electrical contractor, we install and service the power and lighting to commercial and industrial buildings in the Western US. Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $25.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
