We are looking for an organized Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support daily HR operations for a hospitality environment in Miami Beach, Florida. This is a long-term contract opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys handling employee records, coordinating onboarding activities, and assisting with HR systems and team member inquiries. The role will contribute to a positive employee experience by helping maintain accurate documentation, supporting staffing-related processes, and assisting with core administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate new employee setup by preparing onboarding documents, tracking completion steps, and helping employees through pre-employment requirements.
- Maintain accurate personnel files and HR records while ensuring information is entered correctly into HR information systems.
- Assist with background screening activities and follow up on outstanding items to support timely staffing decisions.
- Respond to routine employee questions related to HR procedures, policies, and documentation, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Support employee relations efforts by helping document concerns, organizing records, and coordinating follow-up actions.
- Prepare HR reports, update spreadsheets, and manage administrative tasks that keep the department organized and compliant.
- Help schedule interviews, orientation sessions, and other HR-related meetings to support staffing and onboarding needs.
- Contribute to HRIS-related processes, including data updates, record audits, and support for system-based employee administration tasks.
Requirements
- Experience supporting human resources administration in a workplace setting.
- Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and the ability to manage employee data with accuracy.
- Familiarity with onboarding coordination, including pre-employment documentation and new employee support.
- Experience assisting with screening process coordination and related hiring workflows.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and managers on routine HR matters.
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Exposure to employee relations support and the ability to maintain clear, accurate documentation.
