We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support day-to-day people operations in Jacksonville, Florida. This onsite long-term contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administrative accuracy with responsive employee support in a fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate hiring activities by preparing job postings, arranging interviews, and keeping candidates informed throughout the selection process.
  • Support the onboarding experience by assembling employment documentation, organizing orientation activities, and confirming completion of required forms.
  • Maintain organized and confidential employee files within HR systems and personnel records, ensuring information is current and accurate.
  • Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, benefits, pay-related matters, and workplace procedures, forwarding more complex concerns when needed.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle updates such as role changes, transfers, promotions, and separation documentation.
  • Help organize training sessions, employee engagement efforts, and HR-sponsored meetings or events.
  • Provide front office assistance by greeting visitors, managing the reception area, and directing guests to the appropriate staff or meeting spaces.
  • Contribute to additional HR and administrative projects as assigned to support departmental priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; additional education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience in human resources support, administrative coordination, or a similar office-based role.
  • Familiarity with core HR practices, employee confidentiality standards, and general employment procedures.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and HRIS platforms to manage information and complete daily tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide detail-oriented support to employees and managers.
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities, with a careful approach to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy setting while handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Exposure to onboarding and employee relations support is a plus.
