About the role

The Massachusetts Port Authority is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide high-level executive support, manage complex priorities, communications, and follow-through while maintaining discretion and sound judgment. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience managing projects and budgets for a multi-person team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-level executive support by managing complex priorities, communications, and follow-through while maintaining discretion and sound judgment.
  • Captures and coordinates cross-functional projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and team outputs remain aligned, visible, and on schedule.
  • Manages daily People & Culture operations, including overseeing office logistics, stakeholder relationships, and maintaining a professional, efficient, and well-functioning environment.
  • Manages budgets, onboarding logistics, and compliance processes while driving continuous improvement and enhancing overall team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects and budgets for a multi-person team.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience leveraging HR systems such as HRIS, ATS, or digital signature platforms.
  • Strong competencies in continuous improvement, financial acumen, communication, accountability, and discretion when handling sensitive executive and employee information.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, ideally within a People/HR function.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Skills

  • Project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana).
  • Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • HRIS, ATS, or digital signature platforms.
