About the role

The Human Resources Assistant position within the Massport People & Culture team is a key role that supports the strategic alignment of human capital with the organization's vision. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual who can manage complex priorities, coordinate cross-functional projects, and oversee daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages complex priorities, communications, and follow-through while maintaining discretion and sound judgment.
  • Captures and coordinates cross-functional projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and team outputs remain aligned, visible, and on schedule.
  • Oversees daily People & Culture operations, managing office logistics, stakeholder relationships, and maintaining a professional, efficient, and well-functioning environment.
  • Manages budgets, onboarding logistics, and compliance processes while driving continuous improvement and enhancing overall team effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field, with demonstrated experience supporting senior executives, ideally within a People/HR function.
  • 3+ years of experience managing projects and budgets for a multi-person team, with strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with experience leveraging HR systems such as HRIS, ATS, or digital signature platforms.
  • Strong competencies in continuous improvement, financial acumen, communication, accountability, and discretion when handling sensitive executive and employee information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships across the organization.
  • Continuous improvement mindset that enhances processes, drives efficiency, and elevates the overall performance of the People & Culture function.

Skills

  • Project management skills.
  • Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, or digital signature platforms.

  • Discretion when handling sensitive information.
