About the role
The HR Assistant performs a broad range of human resources tasks related to payroll, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, recruitment, hiring, safety and training.
Responsibilities
- Manages employment records filing and team member benefits including health, retirement and long term care.
- Facilitates answers to questions regarding benefits and investigates industrial injuries and processes workers' compensation claims.
- Processes new hires and terminations, produces offer letters, schedules fingerprints and pre-employment requirements.
- Ensures proper filing of all documents related to team member’s employment and supports the facilitation of FMLA and other leaves.
- Tracks and monitors various human resources processes, including annual requirements, performance evaluations, and training.
- Participates in New Hire Orientation and serves on committees as required.
- Recruits open positions, assists in planning and developing team member recognition events/activities, and manages payroll.
- Assists management team on disciplinary actions, administers disciplinary actions, and tracks such actions.
- Supports the Director of Human Resources on special projects and tasks and manages HR functions in absence of the Director.
- Maintains current licensure for all licensed personnel and audits new hire files for compliance.
- Manages HR bulletin boards with updated information and creates flyers and other materials for posting on boards.
- Attends in-service training workshops and meetings as required and serves on committees as necessary.
- Participates in HG meetings for Human Resources team and provides effective and courteous service to all team members, residents, and vendors.
- Promotes and protects the rights of each resident and team member and handles other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience in Business administration/Human Resources or related field.
- 3-5 years of general office work.
- Minimum 2 years Human Resources experience (recruitment, onboarding, benefits, employee info management).
- Familiarity with State and Federal Labor Laws.

Salary range: $25.00 to $29.00/hour.
