HR Onboarding Specialist - Grand Canyon South Rim
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Onboarding Specialist oversees pre-arrival and onboarding activities, ensuring a seamless, compliant, and welcoming experience for new employees. This role collaborates with property leadership, the Talent Team, and international program representatives to support the candidate lifecycle and deliver an exceptional onboarding experience.

Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Pay: $22.65 per hour
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)
Housing: Eligible for a private bedroom in a shared apartment for $267.00 per month. This covers rent and basic utilities.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for new employees, ensuring a positive arrival experience by providing proactive, responsive, and welcoming support via text, email, phone, and in person.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Property Directors and Managers, the Talent Team, and Work & Travel/Intern program representatives.
Cook and manage the onboarding phases of the employee lifecycle, including initiating, tracking, and completing onboarding documentation in accordance with recruiter service level agreements. Deliver a comprehensive onboarding experience for newly arriving employees by providing guidance on pre-orientation, wayfinding, employee ID cards, meal programs, direct deposit enrollment, and other onboarding requirements.
Support the processing of transfer requests, assisting employees with online portal submissions and escalating issues to the Talent Team when appropriate.
Administer on-property processes for J-1 students, including SEVIS check-in reminders, coordination with Housing for employee placement, transporting international students to Flagstaff on designated days to apply for Social Security cards, and notifying department managers of arrival dates.
Aid walk-in candidates with the online application process, answer recruitment-related questions, and act as a liaison between candidates and the Talent Team throughout the hiring process.
Assist with the preparation of weekly reports on expected employee arrivals and generate ad hoc reports as requested.
Represent the organization at job fairs and recruitment events as needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience in Human Resources or the hospitality industry would be highly advantageous.
A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is beneficial but not required.
Extraordinary customer service skills with a focus on patience and understanding.
Strong presentation and documentation skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with business acumen and a strong relationship management approach.
Process driven with strong organizational aptitude and a high attention to detail with diligent execution.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize tasks and operate with a sense of urgency.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and Talent Management Systems.
