About the role
The HR Specialist will oversee day-to-day HR functions, explain company policies, assist with new hire orientation, record employee data, perform administrative tasks, assist with recruiting, and communicate with the team on new or updated policies.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day HR function for team members
- Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants
- Aid in new hire orientation and onboarding process
- Record data for each employee, including hire date, absences, counseling issues, and termination dates
- Perform administrative functions such as payroll processing, check discrepancies with time, handle filing status changes using Kronos and HR Service Center
- Aid in recruiting, interviews, tests, and selecting employees for vacant positions
- Complete paperwork and reports as required or requested with due diligence
- Aid in developing and implementing cost-saving ideas and strategies
- Communicate with team on new or updated policies and procedures
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitudes towards company goals
- Celebrate and conduct training for Lear employees and staff regarding compliance, ethics, safety, etc.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Maintain the confidentiality of the HR department regarding employee disclosures and issues
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates degree
- 1 - 3 years prior human resources experience
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge of the operational characteristics, services, and activities of a comprehensive human resources program as needed to assist in setting and achieving departmental goals
- Must be able to sit, stand for long periods of time
