Host/Hostess - Part Time
Employment Type: Part time – Day Shift (7:00 AM – 11:30 AM, includes every Saturday)
About the role
To provide a high-quality dining experience to patients which meets their nutritional requirements and service expectations. The Host/Hostess acts as the liaison between patients and food service and nutrition through daily patient interactions and coordinating patient nutritional needs between nursing units, dietitians, and kitchen staff. The Host/Hostess assists patients with room service when appropriate and delivers meal trays to assigned patients.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between patients, food service, and nutrition staff
- Coordinate patient nutritional needs between nursing units and dietitians
- Assist patients with room service as needed
- Deliver meal trays to assigned patients
- Provide friendly, cheerful service reflecting a culture of healing and excellence
- Handle stressful situations professionally
Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, and write English clearly and proficiently
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in a customer service position
- 1–3 years of experience in a food service establishment
- Working knowledge of PC/Microsoft Windows
- Typing skills and strong communication/interpersonal skills
- Understanding of menus, food, and diets
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Problem-solving skills to meet customers' needs
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, push, and pull for extended periods

Pay
Pay Range: $16.20 – $23.50 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education.
Work Environment
Industrial and clinical setting with light to medium physical demands, including standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling. Exposure classified as Class I or II.
