Role Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides in-home patient care, supporting clients with daily living activities, hygiene, mobility, and basic nursing tasks under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and daily routines.
- Support transfers, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Follow care plans and conduct prescribed exercises.
- Prepare meals considering client preferences and dietary needs.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in activities suited to their interests.
- Perform light housekeeping duties and maintain accurate records.
- Report changes in client conditions and adhere to documentation protocols.
- Utilize EVV systems for task completion and maintain confidentiality and patient rights.
- Ensure safety and well-being, calling for help when necessary and following the Plan of Care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid certification with DFS.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Effective communication skills, ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and standing.
- Compassionate attitude toward patient care.
Additional Notes
The role involves traveling within the service area and physical demands such as lifting approximately 50 lbs. The position is based on client needs, with flexible caseloads and no guaranteed hours. The CNA is expected to work dependably, adapt to client and family values, and perform duties according to the care plan without administering medications.
