Home Based Family Educator

Position Summary

The Full-Time Home Family Educator position at Lifesteps is responsible for providing child development services and supportive services to families with infants, toddlers, and expectant mothers. The Home Visitor / Family Educator will work with typically developing children and children with disabilities to effectively implement the Early Head Start home-based curriculum. They will also connect families with community partners to provide social services, such as health services, child socializations, child advocacy, crisis intervention, parent involvement training, etc.

Position Requirements

• Associate Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Family Relations, Special Education, Social Work or Human Services (or related field)
• Demonstrate competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s progress
• Knowledge in infant/toddler development/education/health/nutrition/safety as well as family dynamics and adult learning principles
• Knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families with the appropriate agencies and services
• Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks or Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
• Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business
