About the role
The role involves providing educational support to families in underserved communities, focusing on improving literacy rates and fostering a love for learning among children.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in grades K-8
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop individualized learning plans
- Organize and lead group workshops on topics such as reading comprehension and math skills
- Mentor students in developing study habits and time management skills
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with children in a classroom or tutoring setting
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Passion for education and community development
Qualifications
- Current California Teaching Credential (if applicable)
- Background check clear
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for field trips)
