Family Educator

About the role

The role involves providing educational support to families in underserved communities, focusing on improving literacy rates and fostering a love for learning among children.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in grades K-8
• Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop individualized learning plans
• Organize and lead group workshops on topics such as reading comprehension and math skills
• Mentor students in developing study habits and time management skills
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods accordingly

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working with children in a classroom or tutoring setting
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Passion for education and community development

Qualifications

• Current California Teaching Credential (if applicable)
• Background check clear
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for field trips)

Pay

Salary range: $35,000 - $45,000 annually
