Family Educator
About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Family Educator to join our team. As a Family Educator, you will be responsible for conducting home visits, supporting families in raising healthy, happy, and successful children, working closely with parents and caregivers of children ages 0-3, and providing educational opportunities and guidance for parents.
Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly home visits, building stable and reliable relationships and support structures with families
- Respond to family-identified needs and help them gain access to community resources
- Partner with families in their own goal-setting process to advance family well-being
- Use research-backed curricula and parent input to develop age-appropriate and individualized lesson plans for children
- Ensure families are connected to preventative health care measures, and encourage that children remain current on well-child exams, dental exams, and immunizations
- Support pregnant parents through their pregnancy journey and beyond
- Maintain high-quality documentation regarding actions with families
- Plan and participate in center PLAY Groups to support socialization and program involvement for the whole family unit
- Attend trainings and meetings with enthusiasm and fervor to advance professional skills and team cohesion
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and best practices in education and social services. Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In compliance with KDHE requirements, Child Start will request proof of measles (MMR) vaccination or documented immunity during the employment process. This is not a remote position, must be able to commute daily to Wichita, KS.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Experience working with families and children in early childhood settings is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
Able to establish and maintain positive relationships with families and children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.

Pay
Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually
Schedule
This is a full-time position, with flexible scheduling to accommodate home visits and center-based activities.
