Position Overview

Atrium Health invites Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) with experience in gastroenterology, hepatology/transplant, or internal medicine to join their Hepatology team at Atrium Health Liver Care – Huntersville, NC. The position involves outpatient care for patients with chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and those being evaluated for liver transplant through their transplant program.

Location and Schedule

Location: Atrium Health Liver Care and Transplant – Huntersville, NC.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30 pm. No nights or weekends.

Details of the Position

Primary Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, preferably with a background in GI, hepatology/transplant or internal medicine, to join an established practice in Huntersville, NC. In this role, you will find a supportive leadership team and excellent colleagues in a team-oriented environment.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with at least 1-2 years of gastroenterology, hepatology/transplant or internal medicine experience preferred.
  • New grad candidates with strong desire to work in hepatology will also be considered.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification preferred based upon population and acuity served.
  • Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, Master’s Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.
