Position Details
- Daytime work schedule: 7 on / 7 off, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Weekends and holidays included in rotation
- 100% inpatient adult medicine
Essential Functions
- Evaluate, treat, and manage hospitalized adult medicine patients
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Order, interpret, and manage laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
- Perform minor medical procedures as appropriate and within credentialing guidelines
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing, pharmacy, case management, specialists, and ancillary departments
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and discharge planning activities
- Document all patient encounters, assessments, procedures, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Serve as a patient advocate while promoting quality, safety, and evidence-based care
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education opportunities
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
- Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds while assisting with patients, medical equipment, and supplies
- Must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity
- Must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to perform effectively in stressful clinical situations

The Wake Hospital Medicine team is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join their Hospital Medicine program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
