Hospital Medicine Full-Time NP/PA

Position Details

• Daytime work schedule: 7 on / 7 off, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
• Weekends included in rotation
• Patient assignments and daily census may vary based on patient acuity, service needs, and overall business volume

Essential Functions

• Perform comprehensive initial and follow-up history and physical examinations
• Conduct daily inpatient rounding and ongoing patient assessments
• Evaluate, admit, and consult on hospitalized adult medicine patients
• Develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
• Order, interpret, and manage laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
• Perform minor medical procedures as appropriate and within credentialing guidelines
• Cook up patient care with physicians, nursing staff, case management, pharmacy, specialists, rehabilitation services, and other members of the healthcare team
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and discharge planning to promote safe, timely transitions of care
• Document all patient encounters, assessments, procedures, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Serve as a patient advocate while promoting quality, safety, patient satisfaction, and evidence-based practice
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and policy development as requested

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
• Must be able to lift and support up to 35 pounds while assisting with patients, medical equipment, and supplies
• Must possess functional vision, hearing, touch, smell, and fine motor dexterity
• Must communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to perform effectively in stressful, fast-paced clinical situations
