Heavy Duty Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on ready-mix trucks and heavy equipment at a field-based plant location. This is an outdoor position with exposure to various weather conditions and heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Diagnosing malfunctions and conducting troubleshooting
• Performing preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Operating mobile service trucks and maintaining a clean, safe work environment
• Welding, fabricating, and purchasing repair parts as needed
• Providing on-site support at other locations and assisting co-workers in maintenance practices
• Ensuring compliance with safety policies and operational standards

Requirements

• Minimum one year of truck mechanic experience
• Strong understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance
• Proficiency with power tools, welding, and safety equipment
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures and software systems (preferred)
• Experience with specific transmissions (preferred)
• Effective communication skills in English and ability to work collaboratively
• Personal tools up to ¾-inch drive
• High school diploma considered an asset
• Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate trucks is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks
• Must wear PPE and pass background checks and drug testing

Pay

Starting at $28/hour, based on experience.
