Health Unit Coordinator - Cardiovascular ICU

Caregivers in the Q5 Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) provide care to some of the most critically ill cardiovascular surgical patients in the country, such as patients receiving coronary artery bypass surgery, valve repair and replacements, aortic surgeries, and minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, as well as patients that have undergone new and cutting edge robotic cardiac surgeries. A caregiver in this position works 7:00am—7:30pm or 11:00am—11:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources. Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma or GED1 year of experience in a customer service-related role Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: College degreeMicrosoft Office experience Physical Requirements: Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $18.25 Maximum hourly: $24.95 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
