HEALTH SERVICES SPECIALIST (SAFETY)
About the role
DSH - Napa is seeking multiple candidates for Health Services Specialist (Central Nursing Services) to provide clinical oversight and coordination of nursing services across our inpatient psychiatric hospital. This role serves as a key clinical resource, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while supporting nursing staff, regulatory compliance, emergency response, and hospital-wide operations. Working under the direction of Assistant Coordinator of Nursing Services/Supervising Registered Nurse/Nurse Administrator, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to monitor patient care, support clinical decision-making, coordinate medical emergencies and outside hospital transfers, oversee documentation and quality initiatives, and promote evidence-based practice in a complex behavioral health environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate the quality and delivery of nursing services
- Serve as the clinical leader during medical and psychiatric emergencies
- Provide oversight of clinical nursing operations consistent with the provisions of the Joint Commission
- Coordinate outside medical appointments, hospital transfers, and continuity of care following return to the facility
- Conduct daily nursing rounds, identify opportunities for quality improvement, and recommended corrective actions
- Supports staff training and education on nursing procedures

Pay
$7,428.00 - $12,497.00 (New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.)
Work location
Napa County, California. This is a permanent, full-time position with in-office telework.
