Health Safety Specialist

Responsibilities
- Lead and serve as the point of contact for internal, external, and regulatory audits related to Health and Safety.
- Develop and implement site programs, policies, and procedures conforming to Henkel EHS mandates.
- Evaluate proposed projects and new chemicals for EHS compliance.
- Conduct safety inspections, ensuring documentation and corrective actions for deficiencies.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective action plans.
- Lead projects for continuous improvement in the "Zero Incident Safety Culture" program and manage 5S Culture to ensure a zero-incident EHS culture site-wide.
- Coordinate care for employees’ injuries and illnesses, and administer First Aid for employee injuries.
- Establish, process, and maintain injury files for all injuries requiring medical treatment.
- Process and forward First Report of Injury to the State Industrial Commissioner as dictated by State Law.
- Administer Worker’s Compensation and investigate occupational injuries and accidents.
- Prepare safety reports to satisfy OSHA and specific safety requirements, and maintain the OSHA Log.
- Develop and implement safety programs as assigned for the plant.
- Provide training or resources for CPR and First Aid Training and health-oriented learning and wellness programs, including a health fair.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or other related discipline.
- 5-7 years of experience in Safety and Health in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization.
- Certifications (or ability to obtain) for CPR instructor, Pulmonary Function Testing, and Occupational Hearing Conservation.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
- Experience with Respirator Fit Testing.
- Experience in performing and/or evaluating audiograms.
Skills
- Fundamental skills in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Power BI reporting.
- Solid knowledge in the use and features of Microsoft Office suite, especially Access and Excel.
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly, accurately, and effectively in formal and informal settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with managers and employees at all levels.
- Personal effectiveness with a track record of honoring commitments and following through.

Pay
The hourly pay range for this role is $88,000.00 to $100,000.00. This range reflects the good-faith minimum and maximum hourly rate the Company reasonably expects to offer for this position at the time of posting. This role is classified as non-exempt, and employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. In addition to the hourly wage, employees in this position may be eligible for shift differentials, premium pay, bonuses, or other forms of compensation, depending on role and location. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as the candidate’s skills, experience, training, certifications, and work location.
