The Health and Safety Specialist role is based in Carrollton, Texas (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and enforcement of site environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate standards
  • Partner with the site Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to maintain systems aligned with Occupational Safety and Health Administration General Industry regulations and International Organization for Standardization 14001 standards
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance environmental, health, and safety performance across the facility
  • Conduct and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action implementation
  • Provide daily in-plant guidance to operations, maintenance, contractors, and technical teams to ensure safe work execution
  • Cook up and support field audits and safety observations, ensuring findings are tracked and resolved through corrective actions
  • Deliver and improve environmental, health, and safety training programs to strengthen employee awareness and capability
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting systems for environmental, health, and safety metrics and regulatory compliance
  • Support emergency preparedness programs, including maintaining and updating emergency response plans and participating in response teams

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher with five or more years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration General Industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing and maintaining site-wide environmental, health, and safety programs and management systems
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive a strong safety culture
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Bilingual Spanish is a strong plus
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience delivering training programs and engaging employees in safety initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint

Qualifications

  • Experience with Process Safety Management programs in manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma
  • Experience with safety management systems or incident tracking tools and structured root cause analysis methods
