Head of Core C++ Low Latency Dev / CTO - Prop Trading - NYC
Job Summary
A proprietary trading firm based in Manhattan is seeking a Head of Core C++ Low Latency Development or potential CTO to lead their core development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ low latency trading and will be responsible for leading a team of 10 to potentially 20 people.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of high-performance trading algorithms
- Oversee the design and development of low-latency trading systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quantitative analysts, software engineers, and risk managers
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials
- Guide the team towards continuous improvement and innovation in trading strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 10 years of experience in C++ low latency trading development
- Proven track record of leading high-performing teams
- Experience with algorithmic trading strategies and market microstructure
- Strong understanding of financial markets and trading regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with C++17 and beyond
- Knowledge of trading platforms such as QuantConnect, Tradier, or similar
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-based services
- Experience with financial data analysis tools like Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar
