About the role
The Curtis Hotel is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sales Squad member to join our team. We offer a unique work environment where you can bring your creative spirit and entrepreneurial mindset to help us grow our business.
Responsibilities
- Develop new group accounts and grow current hotel accounts in a profitable and win-win selling approach.
- Make high revenue potential sales calls in accordance with department budget and marketing plan.
- Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing revenue growth opportunities.
- Target and solicit new business through networking, research, and reader board surveys.
- Follow up on all leads within 48 hours and send leads to other Sage hotels.
- Create a targeted account development "hit list" to generate new revenue and acquire valuable contacts.
- Conduct research, surveys, and studies to effectively capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitors' weaknesses.
- Manage customer relationships through frequent communication and professional, courteous, and ethical interactions.
- Follow up promptly on all customer needs and inquiries.
- Utilize yield management techniques to negotiate room rates and function space commitments.
- Maintain a well-documented, organized, and up-to-date file management system.
- Control expenses while traveling on behalf of the hotel to minimize department and hotel costs.
- Represent the hotel and Sage Development Resources, Inc. with integrity and professionalism.
- Display a neat, clean, and business-like appearance at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- College degree preferred.
- Six months minimum in sales, customer service related position or hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge of general sales techniques.
- Highly developed customer service skills.
- Effective business writing skills.
- Ability to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Twelfth grade level mathematics, spelling, and reading skills.
- Effective business writing skills.
- Ability to meet clients on and off premises, tour property, and attend functions.
- Ability to climb stairs, use door keys, and operate basic office equipment.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Set and manage priorities and plan activities in advance.
- Solve problems and make sound business decisions.
