Position Summary
The Third Grade Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and academically challenging self-contained classroom where students are encouraged to grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and emotionally. The successful candidate will integrate Catholic values throughout the curriculum while providing high-quality instruction aligned with Archdiocese of Philadelphia guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming, Christ-centered classroom environment.
- Teach all core academic subjects in a self-contained third-grade classroom.
- Integrate Catholic faith and Gospel values into daily instruction and classroom life.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Utilize data to guide instruction and monitor student growth.
- Maintain effective classroom management that promotes respect, responsibility, and kindness.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and support staff to advance Mater Dei Catholic's mission.
- Participate fully in the spiritual, academic, and extracurricular life of the school community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (Master's degree preferred).
- Pennsylvania teaching certification (or eligibility for certification).
- Practicing Catholic preferred and committed to supporting the mission of Catholic education.
- Strong instructional skills and knowledge of elementary curriculum.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Experience with educational technology and differentiated instruction is desirable.
