Catholic 3rd Grade Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time 3rd Grade Teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for approximately 14 hours per week in Charlotte, NC, for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The position is with Regina Caeli Academy, a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition that offers instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3rd grade students using the RCA curriculum and grading guidelines.
• Prepare for classes at home and come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment.
• Provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards.
• Complete required training videos before classes begin.
• Maintain a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship and model living the Catholic faith day‑to‑day.
• Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided.

Requirements

• Ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Live the Catholic faith day‑to‑day, having received all sacraments appropriate to one’s state in life.
• Pass a clear background check and complete RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching.
• Willingness to prepare for classes at home and attend scheduled sessions.
• Complete training videos before starting work.

Qualifications

• No teaching certification or formal teaching experience required; training will be provided.
• Experience homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry in a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching one’s own children, or teaching in a classical or private school is a plus (but not required).
• Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent, are a plus.
