About the Role
The Geriatrician serves as the attending physician for geriatric and other patients across multiple clinical venues, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary care team including specialists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments for long-term, post-acute, and outpatient care patients.
- Prescribe medications and refer to specialists as needed.
- Coordinate patient care activities and ensure accurate documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement, health promotion, and educational programs.
- Supervise medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to clinical teaching activities linked to a medical school fellowship.
Requirements
- MD or DO with internal medicine or family practice training.
- Valid medical licensure.
- Certification in internal or family medicine.
- Geriatric medicine specialization preferred.
Qualifications
- Experience caring for seniors in various settings.
- Proficiency in inpatient care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
