Geriatric Specialist (N)

About the Role

The Geriatrician serves as the attending physician for geriatric and other patients across clinical settings, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including specialists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens, referring patients to specialists when needed
• Coordinate and direct patient care activities among team members to meet individual needs
• Document patient encounters promptly using electronic medical records
• Participate in quality improvement, health promotion, and educational activities
• Supervise and train medical students, residents, and fellows
• Maintain compliance with policies, safety standards, and productivity benchmarks
• Engage in medical staff meetings and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements

• MD or DO with internal medicine or family practice residency; geriatric fellowship preferred
• Valid Massachusetts Medical License and ABIM certification; additional certification in geriatric medicine preferred
• Experience caring for seniors in long-term, community, or home settings
• Ability to work independently and in teams; strong supervisory skills
• Knowledge of current medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment principles
• Certifications in CPR, BLS, ACLS as required

Pay

Salary range of $197,901.00 - $279,389.00.
