About the Role
The Geriatrician serves as the attending physician for geriatric and other patients across clinical settings, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team including specialists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Prescribe medications and treatment regimens, referring patients to specialists when needed
- Coordinate and direct patient care activities among team members to meet individual needs
- Document patient encounters promptly using electronic medical records
- Participate in quality improvement, health promotion, and educational activities
- Supervise and train medical students, residents, and fellows
- Maintain compliance with policies, safety standards, and productivity benchmarks
- Engage in medical staff meetings and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements
- MD or DO with internal medicine or family practice residency; geriatric fellowship preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Medical License and ABIM certification; additional certification in geriatric medicine preferred
- Experience caring for seniors in long-term, community, or home settings
- Ability to work independently and in teams; strong supervisory skills
- Knowledge of current medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment principles
- Certifications in CPR, BLS, ACLS as required
Pay
Salary range of $197,901.00 - $279,389.00.
