ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush into service cart.
• Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Removing Fingerprints and Smudges: Clean doorknobs and walls with proper solution.
• Spot Cleaning Windows: Use proper solution to clean windows.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Clean and check soap and paper dispensers daily, refill as needed.
• Emptying Trash Cans: Remove liners and wipe trash cans; replace with new liners.
• Floor Dusting or Vacuuming: Dust mop and vacuum rooms, paying special attention to under furniture and behind doors.
• Grounds Care: Clean outside areas, empty ash urns and trash cans, and clean public areas.
• Food Court: Clean tables, sanitize, and empty trash cans; stack clean trays for recycling.
• Food Court: Spot clean for spills; police outside eating areas.
• Food Court: Floor Sanitizing: Use germicidal solution to sanitize floors, especially under furniture and behind doors.
• Inspection: Review cleaning steps and visually check furniture placement after completing a room.
• Hall – Lobby – Stairs – Water Fountains – Furniture – Wall Spotting and High Dusting: Daily tasks performed in these areas.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock on doors before entering, be friendly and answer questions courteously, report issues to supervisor.
• Work Quietly: Reduce noise and stay in assigned area unless directed otherwise.
• Maintain Personal Appearance: Keep clean and neat appearance while on duty.
• Perform Other Duties: May include floor care, carpet extraction, floor waxing, and other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain physical condition suitable for assigned duties, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, operating equipment, reaching, grasping, and using hand and power tools.
