ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• High Dusting: Using a treated high duster, clean surfaces above shoulder height.
• Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush into service cart.
• Sanitizing/Spot Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean surfaces below shoulder height.
• Removing Germs: Remove fingerprints, smudges, and clean doorknobs and walls.
• Spot Cleaning Windows: Use proper solution to clean windows.
• Bathroom Cleaning: Use germicidal solution to clean toilets, soap and paper dispensers, and empty trash cans.
• Floor Dusting/Vacuuming: Dust mop and vacuum rooms, paying special attention to under furniture and trash cans.
• Grounds Care: Clean sidewalks, flower beds, and curb lines, empty ash urns and trash cans, and clean public area glass.
• Food Court: Clean and sanitize tables, remove trash, and empty and clean trash cans.
• Customer Relations and Service: Knock on doors before entering, answer questions courteously, and report issues to supervisor.
• Work Quietly: Reduce noise and stay in assigned area unless directed otherwise.
• Maintain Personal Appearance: Keep clean and neat appearance.
• Perform Other Duties: May include floor care, carpet extraction, and floor waxing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Communication skills to interact with co-workers and supervisors.
• Operate various janitorial equipment.
• Safe work practices and knowledge of toxic and non-toxic chemicals.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties including lifting, carrying, walking, standing, sitting, operating equipment, and reaching.
