About the role

As a member of the Aero New Units Commercial Operations team, you will support GE Vernova’s Aeroderivative Gas Turbine New Unit Sales team by assisting deals from commercial and technical proposal development through contract signature and handover to the execution organization. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing and improving commercial processes within a technically complex and globally impactful sector. You will support the full ITR cycle and contribute to continuous improvement of sales and commercial operations through Lean principles and alignment with the Quality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the commercial teams for Aeroderivative New Unit gas turbine proposal development, requiring strong planning, influencing, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of commercial dashboards, sales forecasts, and performance metrics to track customer opportunities, project status, and revenue targets using Sales Force.com (SFCS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, product champions, finance, supply chain, project management) to streamline bid/tender processes, quoting procedures, and contract reviews.
  • Participate in commercial and sales meetings (Risk Reviews), taking notes and following up on actions as needed.
  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in commercial processes and support initiatives to improve throughput and accuracy using Lean tools (e.g., value stream mapping, 5S, root cause analysis, Kaizen events).
  • Participate in and support Lean commercial process improvements, including standard work development, process mapping, continuous improvement reviews, and eliminating rework in the OTR chain by analyzing risk mitigation and opportunity recovery.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program.
  • Interest in sales and commercial leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and team-building skills.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Experience in market economics, market challenges, technology, and projects, preferably in the power generation industry.

Pay

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr to $36.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.
