Funeral Director

Job Responsibilities

• Arranges calls to deceased next of kin and confirms details.
• Gathers and updates removal status in proprietary software.
• Welcomes next of kin and assists with navigating the space.
• Facilitates Arrangements Conferences, discussing insurance and benefits.
• Presents cemetery and merchandise options, ensuring contracts are completed.
• Presides over visitation, funeral, and graveside services.
• Visually inspects services against contractual arrangements.
• Communicates with the family to fulfill their death care requests.
• Performs event planning tasks, including setting up and cleaning up.
• May perform various attendant duties as needed.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
• Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Industry experience is preferred.
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to build professional relationships.
• Proficiency in databases, MS Office, and manual dexterity.
