Job Responsibilities
- Arranges calls to deceased next of kin and confirms details.
- Performs removals or transfers as needed, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Carefully handles the deceased and updates removal status in software.
- Greet next of kin and escort them to the meeting space.
- Facilitate Arrangements Conferences, discussing needs and summarizing desired outcomes.
- Promote funeral, cemetery, and crematory services and merchandise.
- Transition Arrangements Conferences to Funeral Services Counseling if necessary.
- Preside as Master of Ceremonies for visitation, funeral, or graveside services.
- Inspect Services Arrangements against contractual agreements and next of kin expectations.
- Interact with the family to fulfill their death care requests and obtain leads for pre-need services.
- Plan and execute event-related tasks such as resource planning, ordering, and room setup.
- Create MeM products including scanning photos, ordering memorabilia, and managing online memorials.
- Attend community or charity events to represent and promote the location or market.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
- Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Industry experience is preferred.

- Positive attitude, drive to advance industry knowledge, and high self-motivation.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Public speaking skills to influence and gain consensus.
- Proficient in databases and MS Office applications.
- Frequent continuous periods of sitting or standing up to 6 hours per day, frequent climbing stairs, physical effort requiring manual dexterity, and ability to push/pull up to 150 pounds.
- Professional business attire required when in contact with families.
- Flexibility of availability, including working nights and weekends.
