Job Responsibilities
- Arranges calls to deceased next of kin and confirms details.
- Assists in the removal or transfer of the deceased, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Cares for the deceased respectfully and updates removal status in software.
- Greets next of kin and escorts them to the meeting space.
- Facilitates Arrangements Conferences, discussing life insurance, benefits, and funeral merchandise.
- Presents cemetery options, pricing, and contract completion to clients.
- Directs services, presiding over visitations, funerals, and graveside services.
- Visually inspects Services Arrangements against contractual agreements and next of kin expectations.
- Interacts with the family to fulfill their death care requests and promotes pre-need services.
- Planners and executes event planning responsibilities, including resource planning and ordering of music, flowers, or catering.
- Prepares event rooms, sets up decor, and cleans up after events.
- Performs various attendant duties such as parking lot attendant, driver, usher, pallbearer, or courier.
- May attend community or charity events to represent the location or market.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
- Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
- Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Industry experience is preferred.
- Positive attitude, drive to advance industry knowledge, and self-motivation.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Public speaking skills to influence and gain consensus.
- Proficiency in databases and MS Office applications.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours and occasional nights and weekends.
